18th January 2022

January 18, 2021 | 3:30 PM GST

The Middle East region is at the center of today’s global energy supply, and will be critical to the world’s transition to a low-carbon economy.  Both governments and businesses in the region have played key roles in advancing carbon capture and storage, a technology essential to addressing global climate change.

This 75-minute webinar will highlight the current state of CCS in the region, and point to where CCS is heading, with a showcase presentation on ADNOC’s Al Reyadah CCUS facility – the world’s first to capture CO2 from steel and the first CCUS facility in the Middle East region.  Leaders from government and business will discuss the business rationale for CCUS, and how CCUS will contribute to the global energy transition.

Speakers include:

  • Qais Al Suwaidi - Director Climate Change, UAE Min. of Climate Change and Environment
  • Aaesha Al Keebali - CCUS Lead, ADNOC
  • Zayed Al Shehhi - Team Leader Al Reyadah, ADNOC
  • Jeff Erikson - General Manager, Client Engagement, Global CCS Institute
